Thirty-one years ago, I began my intellectual property career as a patent examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO). Subsequently, I worked as a patent attorney in a private law firm in Washington, D.C. In Israel, I worked as in-house patent counsel in a large high-tech company in Kfar Saba and as a patent attorney in a private law firm in Tel Aviv before opening my own office.
I am registered to practice as a patent attorney before both the U.S. PTO and the Israel Patent Office. I am also an attorney-at-law, licensed in the United States (in VA and in D.C.) and in Israel. In the United States, I am certified to appear in the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Physics, both from the University of Virginia, and I hold a Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
I am involved in all phases of patent application counseling, preparation, and prosecution for patent applications that are examined in patent offices worldwide. I draft appeal briefs and argue in oral hearings at the U.S. PTO. Additionally, I render patent validity and infringement opinions, and I provide litigation support to U.S. counsel for Israeli clients. My technologies of specialization include electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, semiconductors, medical devices, clean ("green") technology, software, and business methods.
